What was your first job as a journalist?

Writing in a paid position with the Webster Journal.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I have never typed a substantial document on one but I have used a typewriter before.

How is social media changing news?

It makes news more accessible, global and instant.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

While technically not a journalist, Nancy Drew is my favorite because while not a "reporter" exactly, she is investigative and adventurous.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email is preferable but I am open to any way someone can get their ideas to me.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I never had the opportunity because we did not have a newspaper at my high school.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The story I am most proud of is the article I wrote for the Webster Journal about the creation of "Poésie," a classical music CD.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Get involved in your college newspaper/magazine if you want to go into journalism. You will bring valuable experience to future employers.

What's your favorite drink?

Water

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Enjoying simplicities in life such as being in the outdoors, practicing the violin, reading, watching documentaries and visiting friends.
