Abstract Introduction: Hospitals, schools, and other institutions in the U.S. collectively spend over $200 billion on food each year (Campbell, 2023). While many have adopted commitments to local and/or sustainable sourcing, institutional procurement processes are typically structured around cost containment, risk mitigation, and high-volume distribution.

Abstract Farm stops are year-round markets that support primarily local farmers and strengthen community-based circular food systems (C-B CFSs). They operate on consignment: the farm stop gives the local producers they work with 70–80% of the retail price, while taking a small percentage to maintain operations. This gives producers a higher price for their goods and flexibility with their time and product offerings, and enhances community connections.

Abstract : We developed and applied a method for measuring selected persistent organic pollutants (POPs) (i.e., polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), organochlorine pesticides, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)) in dust collected from pregnant African Americans (AAs) in Atlanta using isotope dilution gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Limits of quantification were ranged from 0.10 to 2.50 ng/g dust.
