Netflix India likes working with the same talent repeatedly. We’ve written about which stars have appeared in the most Indian Originals, and the same goes for talent behind the camera. Without question, the streaming service’s favorite team is writer Kanika Dhillon and actor Tapsee Pannu. The writer-actor duo has worked together five times so far, with two of those projects being the Netflix Original films Haseen Dillruba and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba.

Netflix celebrated Indian military history with the new Original Hindi fiction series Operation Safed Sagar, an associated documentary called The Last Salute, and a special episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featuring the cast from the series. But those weren’t the only Originals added in August. Netflix also debuted the Original Tamil romantic comedy Pyaar Prema Kalyanam (“Love Love Wedding“). Here are all of the Indian movies and series added to Netflix in August 2026.

South Indian content is Netflix’s focus in 2026. We’ve already seen the debut of half of the slate of Tamil and Telugu Originals Netflix previously revealed, and the streamer surprised us with another new Original Tamil movie coming August 21: Pyaar Prema Kalyanam (“Love Love Wedding“). With this new addition the catalogue, Netflix is scheduled to release at least one new Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam movie — both Originals and theatrical acquisitions — every week for the rest of 2026.
