June strawberries are coming to an end. If your patch is overgrown, now it a great time to thin it out. The easiest way is to water the area well and just pull them out. You can replant some of them yourself, but due to their probability of disease, it is not recommended you share with others and spread it to their gardens. One plant every 10 to 12 inches is the closest they should be, and remove any excess offshoots that appear this season.

Creative Connections installment opens Tuesday MANKATO — Twin Rivers Council for the Arts invites the community to the next event in its 2026 Creative Connections series 5:30–6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fairfield Inn & Suites, 141 Apache Place, featuring artist Kyle Rose. Creative Connections is brings art into everyday community spaces for a monthlong installation through partnerships with local businesses and artists. Each exhibit begins with an art opening and networking event.
