An organization that freed St. Louisan Christopher Dunn after he was convicted of a murder he didn’t commit, along with many other wrongly convicted individuals, could close its doors following last year's federal grant cutbacks. For the past 25 years, the Midwest Innocence Project has worked at no cost to free incarcerated individuals who believe they were wrongfully convicted of crimes in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas.

Fate of Midtown St. Louis data center to be determined in late July after delay in appeals process

An appeal hearing for a controversial data center planned for Midtown St. Louis will be held late this month, after being delayed this week. Thirteen appeals were set to be reviewed by the city’s Board of Adjustment on Wednesday for the data center slated for the old Famous-Barr warehouse in Midtown as part of a $3 billion project dubbed the Armory Innovation District. The meeting was delayed at the request of an appealing party and will now be held on July 29.

Proposed St. Louis data center rules clear hurdle as lobbyists groan that they're an effective ban

Long-in-development zoning rules for data centers in St. Louis cleared one of several final hurdles Tuesday after a year of tinkering, public comment and battles between pro- and anti-data center groups. The Housing, Urban Development and Zoning committee approved several amendments and unanimously passed the bill Tuesday afternoon, sending it back to the Planning Commission and then to the Board of Aldermen just ahead of its summer recess.
