Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, when I was a kid and my grandmother was getting rid of hers. She let me type gibberish on it for fun.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To me, it means bringing more awareness to topics people either already care about, or should be caring about but don't yet realize that.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Send me an email that's short and to the point.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

A lot of MS Word and Google Drive; a lot of Slack, Trello and Gmail.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Around noon any day of the week; that's usually when I've finally gotten through my emails for the day and my inbox is empty.

What's your favorite drink?

If we're talking a hot drink: coffee. Cold drinks: I'm a sucker for sangria.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

Probably that the only good tech writers out there are men.
