Abstract Identification of minimally invasive biomarkers of cancer-associated cachexia may help to recognize high risk patients for progression to more severe cachectic stages. We developed a machine learning-based Model for Cachectic Patients Stratification (MoCaPS) to determine the sets of blood biomarkers that differentiate between noncachectic (NCa), precachectic (PCa), or cachectic (Ca) patients.

Moffitt Cancer Center has licensed Intellectual Property (IP) related to the proliferation and expansion of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) to Iovance Biotherapeutics. Moffitt has also licensed IP to Tuhura Biopharma. Dr. Pilon-Thomas (SPT) is an inventor on such Intellectual Property. SPT is listed as a co-inventor on a patent application with Provectus Biopharmaceuticals.

Abstract Cancer clonal evolution, especially following anti-cancer treatments, depends on the locations of the mutated cells within the tumor tissue. Cells near the vessels, exposed to higher concentrations of drugs, will undergo a different evolutionary path than cells residing far from the vasculature in the areas of lower drug levels. However, classical representations of cell lineage trees do not account for this spatial component of emerging cancer clones.
