The Shield of the Americas is one of the clearest examples of this approach. Launched at a Trump administration summit in Miami in March 2026, the Shield brings together governments to cooperate against drug cartels, trafficking, organized crime, and other security threats. On the surface, it is a regional security initiative. But its larger meaning is geopolitical. It reflects Washington’s desire to work directly with governments willing to cooperate with the United States.

Visa reform, continental trade agreements, improved air travel, and regional business networks show the way to a more united African future. Now some leaders and countries are building what Kwame Nkrumah dreamed of, a united Africa politically and economically connected after colonialism.

Haiti’s population of about 11.5 million people is slightly more than Israel’s population of about 10 million people, including over 2 million Arab residents. Haiti’s geographic area of 10,710 square miles is also slightly bigger than Israel’s size of 8,019 square miles. People who Identify with Haiti and Israel have made Brooklyn, New York home in huge numbers for many years.
