Delay in case detection The median delay in case detection in this study was found to be 12 months, with an interquartile range (IQR) of 10 to 36 months. The mean delay in case detection was 22 months, with a standard deviation (SD) of 19.5 months, with a minimum delay of 2 and a maximum delay of 96 months. About half (47%) of the participants had a delay in case detection of more than 12 months from their first symptom onset.
