State Lawmakers Aren’t Waiting for Congress to Get Its Act Together
This article is part of TPM Cafe, TPM’s home for opinion and news analysis. As we return from the Thanksgiving holiday, we know some of our neighbors are hungry. Some are detained. And millions more are anxious about what will happen next month, when the federal government once again teeters on the brink of shutdown. The recent federal crisis didn’t just expose GOP cruelty.

As America continues to suffer from gun violence and mass shootings, it has been well established that it is best to limit the amount of notoriety and infamy of the shooters by restricting the use of their name and image.

Victims who voluntarily consume alcohol or drugs and are raped are entitled to justice.
Working to strengthen health, safety and justice at the State Capitol
Serving in the Minnesota House is a tremendous honor, and I’m excited for the 2020 legislative session. This year, we can improve opportunities for students to succeed, build more economic security for families and strengthen the health and safety of Minnesotans at school, in the workplace and everywhere else in our community. One issue I’m committed to addressing this session is student mental health.
OPINION EXCHANGE | Minnesota's outdated sexual harassment laws continue to let survivors down
For far too long, Minnesota’s arcane sexual harassment policy has failed both employees and employers. A 2018 Star Tribune Minnesota Poll reported that nearly two out of three women in the state have personally experienced sexual harassment. We hope that 2020 is the year we can finally provide clarity in our laws, so that neither employees nor employers must continue to tolerate sexual harassment in the workplace.
