In some cases, records will be challenged. The combination of high heat and high humidity could cause heat-related illnesses if precautions are not taken. Highs in the mid-90s. Highs today should barely break the 90-degree mark in most locations outside the mountains.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Our weather over the next 10 days will feature 3 distinct phases. Showers and storms, then sunny, hot, and humid, followed by the return of thunderstorms. Some of the storms today and tomorrow could bring damaging winds. Phase 1 features showers and storms on this Friday, Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. Scattered thunderstorms for today and tomorrow have the potential to become severe. Especially in the afternoon and evening hours, when they could bring strong winds.
