1 Introduction Binge eating and harmful drinking are behaviors that involve the repetitive, excessive, or compulsive consumption of food or alcohol (Ágh et al. 2015; APA 2022; Courtney and Polich 2009). Binge eating describes discrete episodes during which one eats a large amount of food and feels a loss of control over their eating (APA 2022). Binge eating is a symptom present in many eating disorders and a defining feature of Binge Eating Disorder (BED) and Bulimia Nervosa (BN; APA 2022).
