This Book – The 4-Hour Work Week, basically blew up and created a whole new crop of entrepreneurs when it hit the market back in 2007. The reason why I’m intimate with this is mainly because I was one of them! I had just been laid off from corporate America (It was when the publishing companies started to gobble each other up.) for what I decided would be the last time – this was number 3, and I was out.

This Book, The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz, Ph.D., was first printed in 1959 and is still in print today. I love books like this that are completely valid 64 years later! And can still make just as much impact now as it did in 1959. A long-time friend who’s an amazing business coach and mentor recommended this book when I was clearly frustrated and struggling with my business and needed a boost.

Growing up, we all remember the books that stuck with us whether we wanted them to or not. This short list of books may not impress you — some of the books may even seem basic — but they were formative in my development as a person throughout my late teens, early twenties, and recent years. These are the books to which I attribute my untraditional career, entrepreneurial thinking, philosophy, and personal finance habits.
