NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - KNOP is unveiling a new segment honoring those in North Platte and the surrounding area who step up to make an impact. The segment, called Community Champions, highlights residents making a difference. Roger Freeze is our first honoree. Freeze was born and raised in North Platte. He spends his life giving back to the community he loves. Freeze’s desire to help those in the community has always been part of what he considers his civic duty.

HERSHEY, Neb. (KNOP) - A crash on Highway 30 in Hershey Thursday morning left two people injured. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said a 23-year-old woman was driving on Highway 30 when a car behind her attempted to pass and collided with a 58-year-old man in another vehicle. The sheriff’s office said the woman did not suffer any serious injuries.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Dozens of people lined up at the Moose Lodge in North Platte for the annual BBQ pork sandwich feed. It’s been a tradition for the local lodge for the past ten years. However, this year it was drive-thru only. The annual fundraiser not only raises funds for the local organization, but it also helps sustains their sponsored programs. Members say they’re grateful they were able to provide this service to the community given the current directive health measures.
