One Founder's Experience Answering the Question: How Do I Structure My Cause?
After starting a nonprofit that provides a unique type of shoe to children in need and realizing a market demand, entrepreneur Kenton Lee was faced with whether or not to become a for-profit company. Photo courtesy of Because International “Should we blow this up and change everything?” That was the question my best friend and I asked ourselves in the summer of 2017 — even though we were leading a fairly successful social enterprise that had positive momentum, funding, and impact.
BERT: Pre-training of Deep Bidirectional Transformers for Language Understanding
Authors:Jacob Devlin, Ming-Wei Chang, Kenton Lee, Kristina Toutanova (Submitted on 11 Oct 2018 (v1), last revised 24 May 2019 (this version, v2)) Abstract: We introduce a new language representation model called BERT, which stands for Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers. Unlike recent language representation models, BERT is designed to pre-train deep bidirectional representations from unlabeled text by jointly conditioning on both left and right context in all layers.

There are certain parasites and worms that can enter the body through the feet. If kids have no shoes and they get a cut or a scrape, they are now open and susceptible to these different diseases. In Uganda and in other parts of East Africa, there’s a small bug called a ‘jigger’ and it gets on their feet and it kind of eats away at their flesh.
