Many candidates for state legislative and executive committee positions are running unopposed in their respective primaries. The deadline for residents to register to vote in this election is July 7. The August election may be a few months away, but the state and county candidates are already busy preparing.

Ramon Aquino, 77, was arrested in connection with a multi-year scheme involving the prescribing of controlled substances without a legitimate medical purpose, the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee announced.

Fort Campbell honors 101st Airborne troops return with ceremony

The 101st Airborne Division held an uncasing ceremony to mark the return of its troops from the southern border. Two departing generals, Brig. Gen. Travis McIntosh and Brig. Gen. Joseph Katz were honored during the ceremony as they prepare to leave Fort Campbell. 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)'s 1st Mobile Brigade “Bastogne” will deploy from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to the Southern Border as part of a regular rotation of forces.
