A passionate educational technologist and online educational designer with more than 8 years working in the sector, I rarely switch off in exploring what ICTs can and are doing for education and communications.
I currently work as a consultant and instructional designer with academic staff at a university to create engaging online courses and learning materials using collaborative planning processes that emphasize effective pedagogical approaches based on the tools at hand. The educational technology I use includes tools like the Moodle learning management system, video, audio, Adobe Connect, iSpring, Articulate Storyline and social media tools.
Constructing learning is about the learner getting stuck into applying knowledge, not being spoon fed and nothing gives me more fulfilment than learners saying "I did it and I'm proud of myself!"
I've facilitated workshops and delivered presentations across Australia and get a real buzz out of both teaching and learning - online as well as face to face.
Career ambitions: to do exciting,innovative, engaging work in the development of online learning experiences for adults so that people can realise their potential throughout their lives and to travel the world to learn and teach.
