1. Introduction Trauma is the most common cause of death worldwide [1], and bleeding is the most common cause of death from trauma. Coagulopathies such as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and sequential multi-organ failure in patients with severe trauma are closely associated with poor outcomes [2]. The pathophysiology and clinical course of post-traumatic organ dysfunction are heavily influenced by whether a severe trauma patient has DIC and receives appropriate care [3].
