Thursday 14th November 2024 10:17 am.Kevin Pitstock Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) will compel all handlers and catchers to wear Sportsbet-branded bibs from Monday, November 25, 2024. GRV have revised their dress standards to reflect the enforced wearing of the online bookmaker branded bibs, which are made in Sportsbet’s striking blue colour. The only people exempt from the Sportsbet bibs are handlers and catchers who are under 18 years of age.

The smallest Melbourne Cup field was seven just starters back in 1863; while the biggest field was 39 starters in 1890, the year the great Carbine won the Melbourne Cup. Since 1955 The Cup field size has been limited to 24 runners. Prior to that, number 25 had provided two winners, number 26 one, number 28 one and number 39 one win.
