The AIDS Run & Walk Chicago returned to Chicago’s Soldier Field on Saturday to help raise awareness and funds for individuals who are living with or vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. Over 2,500 people participated in the 32nd annual event. Mayor Brandon Johnson, Senator Mike Simmons, and Alderman Lamont Robinson stopped by to show support. "We have a goal by the year of 2030,” said Johnson.

Chicago's largest street festival returns this weekend to the Northalsted neighborhood, recognized as America’s first gay village. “Market Days has the irresistible energy and colorful spirit of the Northalsted community that keeps people coming back every year from all over the world,” said lead event organizer Mark Liberson, who is excited about the festival’s 41st anniversary. Market Days began in 1982 and skipped in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Hundreds of people celebrated LGBTQ Pride Month in the western suburbs on Sunday. Aurora hosted its 4th annual Pride parade. 72 groups marched in the parade, which made its way through downtown Aurora. There was concern earlier this year that the parade would not happen following a 2022 squabble between the city and Aurora Pride.
