Cosmogenic isotopic evidence from Chang’e-6 clasts for excavation history and ejecta provenance in the South Pole-Aitken basin
Abstract Impact and space weathering play a key role in resurfacing the Moon, yet their effects on the lunar farside remain poorly constrained. Chang’e-6 (CE-6) samples provide a unique opportunity to understand space weathering and material redistributions within the South Pole-Aitken (SPA) Basin. Our combined cosmogenic Sm, Hf, and Cr isotope results indicate an average cosmic-ray exposure (CRE) age of ~500 Ma for the CE-6 soil.
Distinguishing Parkinsonian Disorders and Cognitive Disorder Subtypes Using Pseudocontinuous Arterial Spin Labeling
Submitted: 16 September 2026 Posted: 16 September 2026 You are already at the latest version Arterial spin labelling (ASL) MRI provides a noninvasive measure of cerebral perfusion, raising the possibility of distinguishing Parkinson's disease (PD) from atypical parkinsonian syndromes (corticobasal syndrome, multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy) and of separating the associated cognitive disorders, PD dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), from Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Freeze–Thaw Controls on Dissolved Organic Carbon Export: A Numerical Investigation of Hydrological Mechanisms in a Hillslope
1 Introduction Permafrost, a critical component of the Earth's system, is the subsurface material that remains at or below 0°C for at least two consecutive years, covering approximately 21% of the Northern Hemisphere's exposed land surface (Obu, 2021; Obu et al., 2019; Steinert et al., 2024).

Evaporation‐Induced Hysteresis in Surface Water‐Groundwater Exchange in Wetlands
1 Introduction Wetlands are among the most vital ecosystems on Earth, covering approximately 6% of the planet's land surface (Desta et al., 2012; Peng et al., 2022). They are defined as areas inundated or saturated by surface or groundwater (Bertassello et al., 2018), and encompass diverse types such as coastal, riverine, lake, swamp, fen, and constructed wetlands (Wu et al., 2020).

Impact of Density‐Dependent Flow and Aquifer Heterogeneity on Virus Transport and Removal During Aquifer Storage and Recovery
1 Introduction Aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), a form of managed aquifer recharge (MAR) designed for the intentional injection and later retrieval of water, offers a sustainable approach to regional water resource management (Dillon et al., 2019; Guo, Chen, et al., 2023; Guo, Fogg, et al., 2023). By leveraging the pore spaces in natural aquifers as reservoirs, ASR helps mitigate regional imbalances between water supply and demand (Maliva et al., 2020; Page et al., 2016).
TAS2R38 taster variants-linked MGAM expression in Alzheimer’s disease: a novel target for precision drug repurposing
Abstract Introduction: TAS2R38 is a taste receptor gene located on human chromosome 7 that influences sensitivity to bitter tastes and has been implicated in innate immunity, glucose level, and human longevity. However, its potential association with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) has not been explored. Identifying such a genetic connection could support developing new drugs or repurposing existing ones for AD treatment.

p75 neurotrophin receptor modulation in mild to moderate Alzheimer disease: a randomized, placebo-controlled phase 2a trial - Nature Medicine
Abstract p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) signaling pathways substantially overlap with degenerative networks active in Alzheimer disease (AD). Modulation of p75NTR with the first-in-class small molecule LM11A-31 mitigates amyloid-induced and pathological tau-induced synaptic loss in preclinical models.

Prevention, incidence, and risk factors of chyle leak after radical nephrectomy and thrombectomy
1 INTRODUCTION Chyle leak (CL) is a rare but clinically relevant complication of urological surgeries that involves the direct disruption of the cisterna chyli or its tributaries.1-3 The cisterna chyli is a lymphatic sac located next to the abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava (IVC) that collects chyle from the intestines.3 CL after surgery is defined by most clinicians as the drainage of chyle with a triglyceride level greater than 110 mg/dL after oral intake or enteral nutrition.4, 5...

Combining Blood-Based Biomarkers and Structural MRI Measurements to Distinguish Persons With and Without Significant Amyloid Plaques
Abstract Background: Amyloid-β plaques play a pivotal role in Alzheimer's disease. The current positron emission tomography (PET) is expensive and limited in availability. In contrast, blood-based biomarkers (BBBMs) show potential for characterizing Aβ plaques more affordably. We have previously proposed an MRI-based hippocampal morphometry measure to be an indicator of Aβ-plaques.

Vital signs monitoring using the macrobending small-core fiber sensor
Abstract Respiration and heartbeat monitoring during sleep is essential in the assessment of personal health. However, conventional monitoring systems are complex, expensive, and uncomfortable. In this Letter, a mat embedded with a macrobending optical fiber sensor is proposed for non-contact vital signs monitoring during sleep based on vibration sensing. Exploiting the whispering gallery mode, a small-core fiber is adopted and pre-bent to enhance sensitivity to subtle vibrations.
Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease Using Brain Network
Introduction Alzheimer’s disease (AD), which causes majority of dementia is a progressive neurodegenerative disease (American Psychiatric Association, 1994; Liu F. et al., 2014; Schmitter et al., 2015; Alzheimer’s association, 2016). The subtle AD neuropathological process begins years before the visible progressive cognitive impairment, which is trouble to remember and learn new information. Currently there is no cure and treatment to slow or stop its progression.

HDAC2 dysregulation in the nucleus basalis of Meynert during the progression of Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by degeneration of cholinergic basal forebrain (CBF) neurons in the nucleus basalis of Meynert (nbM), which provides the major cholinergic input to the cortical mantle and is related to cognitive decline in patients with AD. Cortical histone deacetylase (HDAC) dysregulation has been associated with neuronal degeneration during AD progression. However, whether HDAC alterations play a role in CBF degeneration during AD onset is unknown.
Fractional Models Simulating Non-Fickian Behavior in Four-Stage Single-Well Push-Pull Tests
Four-stage single-well push-pull (SWPP) tracer tests, including injection, chasing, resting and pumping, were conducted in a fractured aquifer at Newark basin. An anomalous transport phenomenon observed in the SWPP tests is the linear decline of breakthrough curves (BTCs) at late time with slope of -1.8 in log-log plots. A time-dependent fractional model is developed to interpret the anomalous transport behavior.
Genetic Susceptibility for Alzheimer Disease Neuritic Plaque Pathology
Importance While numerous genetic susceptibility loci have been identified for clinical Alzheimer disease (AD), it is important to establish whether these variants are risk factors for the underlying disease pathology, including neuritic plaques. Objectives To investigate whether AD susceptibility loci from genome-wide association studies affect neuritic plaque pathology and to additionally identify novel risk loci for this trait.

Association of White Matter Integrity and Cognitive Functions in Patients With Subcortical Silent Lacunar Infarcts
Background and Purpose— Silent lacunar infarct (SLI) is a risk factor for dementia. This study investigated the white matter integrity abnormality and its relationship to the cognition impairments in SLI patients. Methods— Between 27 patients with SLI in basal ganglia and 30 healthy controls, we assessed the difference in a batter of neuropsychological tests and in white matter integrity measurements, fractional anisotropy, and mean diffusivity, using tract-based spatial statistics.
