A total of 120 clinically affected fish (60 Tilapia zillii and 60 Mugil cephalus) were randomly collected freshly dead or moribund from different private fish farms within Suez Canal areas, Ismailia Governorate, Egypt, during different seasons (n = 15 each season/ each species).

Abstract The effects of long-term dietary supplementation with sandalwood (Santalum album L.) essential oil (SEO) was investigated on hemato-biochemical biomarkers, immune status, antioxidant capacity, and resistance against Staphylococcus aureus in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Five groups (with four replicates) of O. niloticus (12.60 ± 0.20 g) were fed diets supplemented with SEO at doses of 0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 mL/kg diet for 60 days.

Abstract Nowadays, nanomaterials are strongly introduced in the aquaculture sector as antidotal agents. Therefore, the current study aims to test magnetite (Fe3O4) nano gel (MG) in relieving toxicity induced by lead (Pb) ions via assessment of stress condition, growth rate, oxidant/antioxidant activity in serum, and histopathological lesions in gill tissue, plus different gene expressions in African catfish (Clarias gariepinus).
