The Dubair Khwar Hydropower Dam. — [email protected]/File ISLAMABAD: Authorities have begun drawing down water from the country’s major reservoirs after Indus River System Authority (IRSA) started releasing water to meet the irrigation requirements of the four provinces despite a sharp decline in river inflows. Tarbela Dam, which reached its maximum live storage of 5.580 million acre-feet (MAF) on August 9, had maintained almost equal inflows and outflows until September 8.

Refinery margins plunge below five-year average as crude premiums surge

The LNG carrier, Al Marrouna, carrying around 81,936 metric tons of LNG from Qatar’s Ras Laffan terminal, transited the Strait of Hormuz on September 7 under Pakistan’s government-to-government arrangement with Qatar.
