Seven people were killed and three injured after a fight broke out over water in Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday. The incident occurred in Kari Shamozi’s Mangal village. Two groups clashed over water for their crops, according to the police. The injured and bodies have all been taken to a nearby hospital. An FIR was lodged on Sunday at the Gul Bahar police station in Peshawar over the murder of ANP Peshawar president Sartaj Khan. The FIR was lodged on behalf of his brother Shamsul Taj against unidentified suspects under Section 302 (murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code. Khan was shot dead in the Gulbahar area of Peshawar Saturday afternoon. He is from Charsadda and was elected the ANP’s Peshawar city president.

A woman was gunned down by her husband in Peshawar’s Faqeerabad. The woman, identified as Neelum, was leaving her house with her children in a chingchi rickshaw when her husband, Abdul Rauf, opened fire. A polio worker has been threatened of ‘grave consequences’ in Nowshera’s Akora Khattak on Wednesday. The lady health worker was threatened after administering polio drops to children in Nowshera a day earlier during an ongoing anti-polio campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police says she called the station and said two men, Asif and Basheer, came to her house and threatened her.

A policeman, identified as Zafar Ali, was shot dead by unknown men on Wednesday while he was deployed at a health unit to provide security during an anti-polio drive in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner. He was attacked within the limits of the Dagger police station. The suspects fled after shooting him, according to the police. The suspects’ main target was the police officer, not the anti-polio team, said the spokesperson of district police. The police believe Ali was killed due to personal enmity.

Federal Minister of Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri has said that a riyasat-e-Madina (Madina-like state) doesn’t mean people will get to perform Hajj for free. A Riyasat-e-Madina means creating a welfare state and ensuring people's fundamental needs are met, he explained. Speaking to the media at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s University in Peshawar on Friday, the minister said his ministry wanted to grant Hajj subsidies but the prime minister and cabinet did not heed their suggestion.
One transgender person killed, two injured in attack in KP’s Karak
