While others more senior may remember where they were when they heard John F. Kennedy had been shot, for those of my generation, it is 11 September 2001 that plays such a role in the collective memory. It was four days before my 11th birthday. I was only a fortnight into my secondary school career. At that time, the word “terrorism” had not yet landed on my radar. Yet, it soon came to frame my understanding of global politics till the present day.
