A massive amount of data has been created and stored in various personal devices, which could contain highly sensitive information such as medical records, photos, and trajectories. Even seemingly innocuous data can be combined to breach the privacy of individuals. To protect privacy, research has been conducted for decades, and regulations have been put in place. Differential privacy (DP) is one of the strongest privacy models, and it is mathematically provable [1].

For decades, cyclopolymerization of α,ω-diyne derivatives has been an effective method to synthesize various soluble polyacetylenes containing five- to seven-membered rings in the backbone. However, cyclopolymerization to form four-membered carbocycles was considered impossible due to their exceptionally high ring strain (∼30 kcal/mol).
