Arizona volleyball has a lot to prove according to Pac-12 preseason poll

AZ Desert Swarm — Arizona volleyball has finished eighth, sixth, ninth, and fifth in the Pac-12 over the past four seasons. Despite the team returning all but one of its major contributors from last season, the Pac-12 coaches think the Wildcats will do worse this year. The team was selected 10th in the Pac-12 preseason poll released by the conference on Monday.

Just days after starting practice, Arizona soccer was on its way to Flagstaff to face Northern Arizona in an exhibition. The Wildcats accomplished what they needed to, getting match time for 21 players and securing the 1-0 victory on a goal by freshman midfielder Samantha Baytosh in the 46th minute.

AZ Desert Swarm — After seven years of professional softball that has taken her around the world, former All-American Arizona catcher Chelsea Goodacre has announced her retirement. Goodacre has played for the USSSA Pride since 2015. Goodacre played for the Wildcats from 2012 through 2015. She was honored as an NFCA Second-Team All-American her senior year after leading NCAA softball with 86 RBI.

The latest is former second baseman and Pac-12 batting champion Reyna Carranco who was announced as the new volunteer assistant coach at Arkansas on Thursday. "We're so excited about this addition to our staff," Arkansas head coach Courtney Deifel said in the university's press release.
