The Department for Transport’s (DfT) latest round up of road collision (RTA) casualties in 2021 shows a worrying increase in deaths and serious injuries caused by drink-driving on British roads. They estimate that drink-drive collisions caused more than 6,740 injuries across all severities, with the number of fatalities (260) reaching a 12-year-high.

Since a young age, I have been taught to advocate for my rights and position in society and to not give in to any obstacles. My role models are Queen Marie of Romania and her illustrious grandmother, Queen Victoria. The Victorian Age, specifically Victorian poets, and Greek mythology, were the subject of my graduation thesis.

I am flirting with the cool-spicy scent of Un Jardin Après la Mousson d'Hermès for the upcoming expected-to-be-really-hot summer, a fragrance which is neither salty nor oceanic, but which gives instead the limpid feeling of rain very convincingly; it's named after the monsoons in India, after all. The thought is refreshing, if considered from a distance; the reality of living through a monsoon is probably another matter.
