This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturdays 8am), we're helping to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta. Frank Fernandez, the new CEO and President, is joining us to talk about the celebration, including a gift to Atlanta. From Thursday, November 4th - Sunday, November 7th general admission for you and your family to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights Museum will be on the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta.

This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturday 8am) we welcome back New York Times Bestselling Author Gary Golio to speak about his new book Sonny Rollins Plays the Bridge. Golio has covered many artists with colorful picture books that can be enjoyed by children and adults. Often he is researching iconic artists in our past such as Jimi Hendrix and Billie Holiday. His research for this story included a number of interviews with Sonny Rollins.

Saturday morning on WCLK's The Local Take, I spoke with Toni Simmons Henson, founder of The Atlanta Black  Theatre Festival, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. The festival has made accommodations for the Pandemic and invites theatre lovers to enjoy the event on October 29th at the downtown Hilton and on October 30th Maple House Amphitheatre. Henson refers to Saturday night’s offering as an evening of theatre and music under the stars.
