FOX23.com News Staff SAND SPRINGS — The city of Sand Springs is one step closer to getting the “Project Spring” Google data center. A district court judge recently dismissed a lawsuit over the planned Google data center in Sand Springs, and City Manager Mike Carter is confident the project will be moving forward. “At this point, Google has actually purchased the property. They are now owners of the property, so we believe this project will be going forward,” Carter said.

Last week, Owasso Police worked a potential fraud case at First Bank of Owasso, in which an individual impersonated an elderly woman resembling Vicki Lawrence’s character from “Mama’s Family.” Owasso Police said the suspect attempted to withdraw money from someone else’s account using fake identification, but left before any money changed hands.

EDMOND — Today marks the 40th anniversary of the 1986 Edmond Post Office Massacre that coined the phrase “Going Postal.” Exactly one year ago today, a 44-year-old part-time mail carrier shot and killed 14 people and injured six in the downtown Edmond Post Office. The gunman, Patrick Sherrill, died by suicide in the building after the 15-minute assault.
