Storm surge and flooding are the greatest threats in a hurricane, said John Metz, NWS warning coordinator specialist. Corpus Christi hasn't been hit by a major hurricane in nearly 50 years. @KeyroseLDO I think they're valid questions - city was originally predicted to get as much as 40 inches of rain in Harvey, before the storm's path/formation became more clear. Intent of story isn't to alarm, but to bring forward the question/conversation
