Some might drive right past Swan Mountain Women’s and Family Clinic on Farmer’s Korner near Breckenridge thinking its a home, because that’s what it look like, and clients say the inside feels like a home, too. The clinic’s human resource professional, Savannah Golden, said it has such a homey feel because it actually used to be a bed and breakfast.

Veterinarian Mark Cowan first moved to Summit County in 2000. He wanted to focus on small animals and people’s pets after a stint working with a mixed animal hospital, and that led him to opening Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital in 2004. In the past several years, the animal hospital picked up the first place award for Best Veterinarian Practice in Best of Summit in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Breckenridge officials decide not to rehabilitate Breckenridge Montessori

Breckenridge Montessori said analyses showed its building, which was built in 1899 and is now owned by the town, likely won’t be operational past 2027.
