AN FIR has been registered against Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa in contractor Santosh Patil’s death case in Udupi. The minister has been booked under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on charges of abetment to suicide. The allegation is grave and Santosh Patil’s death has led to calls for Eshwarappa resignation with the Congress leading the protests. So, can the police arrest Eshwarappa?
