Theme park's Tinkaboo Town throne restored

A man says he wants a 'throne', which once took pride of place at a Cleethorpes attraction, back on public display after he helped restore it. Alfie Lugsden, a Pleasure Island enthusiast, started a crowd-funding campaign to buy the Tinkaboo Town Throne after it recently came back up for sale. Pleasure Island closed in 2016 due to falling visitor numbers. It was a fixture on the Lincolnshire coast for more than 20 years. Lugsden said the resort needed something "to remember the park by".

Woman to row Atlantic in memory of school friend

A woman preparing to row across the Atlantic will raise money in memory of a school friend. Liv Stocks, 22, from East Yorkshire, is preparing for the 3,000-mile (4,800km) challenge alongside Jenna Vincent, 25, from Poole in Dorset, and Meg Neely, 24, from Swindon in Wiltshire. Stocks will raise money for A Shining Light, a Howden-based charity set up to support the NHS services and the Teenage Cancer Trust following the death of her school friend Luke Stevens, who was 17, from bone cancer in 2021.

Marvel tattoo world record holder vows to carry on

Tom Radford, from Hull, set the record with 63 of the superheroes covering most of his body in December, and has recently added three more, including Deadpool and Moon Knight. The 40-year-old said he had spent more than £18,000 and 350 hours under the needle getting the work done.
