Artistic irreverence has been central to the very birth of Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris as we see it today. In 2008, French designer Philippe Starck hosted a demolition party where guests, including the likes of Jude Law and Kanye West, were given hard hats and invited to smash the interiors of the structure. The exuberance of destruction, so to speak, was the starting point of a two-year-long remodelling of the heritage art deco structure.

L’ultimo progetto dell’architetto B.V. Doshi per il Vitra Campus di Weil am Rhein. Memoria. Contemplazione. Rituale. Movimento. Sono alcune delle parole che l’architetto Balkrishna “B.V.” Doshi, durante la pandemia, aveva scarabocchiato su un foglio insieme al disegno di un edificio e di un paesaggio. L’illustrazione rispondeva all’invito di Rolf Fehlbaum, presidente emerito di Vitra, a progettare “un santuario” per la sede dell’azienda a Weil am Rhein, in Germania.
