Skip to content Ryan Garner, a 17-year-old pilot, is the youngest and first African-American pilot in North Carolina. Garner received his private pilot’s license at Concord’s Goose Creek Airport. He was honored earlier this month by the city’s mayor. Garner is a senior studying aerospace engineering and aviation at West Cabarrus High School.
