1 Urban Occurrence Does Not Equal Urban Success Humans have transformed over two-thirds of the Earth's land surface, and urbanisation has emerged as one of the fastest and most pervasive forces reshaping wildlife habitats (Haight et al. 2023; Li et al. 2024; Urban et al. 2024).

INTRODUCTION Prioritization of conservation effort is crucial for decision-making, especially when financial resources are limited (Pienkowski et al., 2021; Wilson et al., 2006). Most conservation actions focus on habitats with highly endangered or endemic species, habitats at risk of disappearing, or biodiversity hotspots. Exhaustive biodiversity sampling and threat assessment of a specific area are fundamental to evaluating efficient conservation investment objectively.

1 INTRODUCTION Bats are among the most widely distributed mammalian taxa worldwide, with a variety of habitats and diverse roles within ecosystems. Given the high diversity of more than 1400 described species, bats may be specialists or generalists in diet, habitat and roost sites (Simmons & Cirranello, 2020; Tanalgo et al., 2022).
