Everyone's a reporter these days. This reality has made the work of fact-checkers more difficult, more crucial. Fake news is a genuine threat

Curious. Empathetic. Observant. Informed. Data-conscious. Storyteller. Opinion shaper.

Why did you become a journalist?

I had a taste in my first year as an undergraduate, and I liked it.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I did. I was editor-in-chief of two press organisations, and occupied lots of other roles, before graduating.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

None yet.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

There are always new stories to be told and old stories to be retold. By all means find them, and give them your best shot.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Any morning except Monday's.

What's your favorite drink?

Wine (non-alcoholic).

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On my darling bed, having a great nap/sleep.

Pulitzer Prize-winning stories, as published on the website?

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

It is super-dangerous. Yes it is more dangerous than regular reporting, but it doesn't have to be deadly all the time.
