JOSHUA TREE — A proposed 64-home gated community faced a setback Thursday when a Victorville judge ordered the county board of supervisors to set aside approvals for the Lovemore Ranch. Judge Jeffrey Erickson said San Bernardino County violated state law in the process of approving landowner Axel Cramer’s gated community. “We are setting a precedence for developers,” said Nelson Day, who helped found Joshua Tree Village Neighbors to oppose the project.

TWENTYNINE PALMS — Around 160 Wildcats celebrated the successful end of their high school careers at their graduation ceremony Thursday, June 4, in the Twentynine Palms High School stadium. The evening of speeches was capped by the traditional firing of confetti cannons by faculty members, followed by a fireworks display. Senior Class President Naomi Morales led her fellow graduates in the turning of the tassels, the final step in the graduation process.

TWENTYNINE PALMS — An evening fire destroyed two homes and damaged a third in the Hacienda Mobile Home Park on Adobe Road near Raymond Drive Sunday, May 31.
