Road closures and heavy traffic were expected to continue on DuSable Lake Shore Drive and in Chicago's Edgewater and Rogers Park neighborhoods Friday as the funeral service of fallen Chicago police officer John Bartholomew begins. The Chicago Office of Emergency Management sent out an alert about the traffic impacts, telling drivers to expect "severe congestion and delays" due to the memorial events, which started Thursday.

With Memorial Day just a few weeks away, many travelers are already looking ahead to the summer. And as the warmer months approach, the Transportation Security Administration is offering a limited-time PreCheck discount aimed at younger travelers. Beginning Friday through May 31st, travelers between 18 and 30 years old can receive an automatic $20 discount, lowering the price to anywhere between $56.75 and $65 for a five-year membership, with prices depending on the enrollment provider.
