COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The man accused of shooting and killing 25-year-old Jacob Coons after a fight over a game of pool was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Monday. Duron Thomas was a wanted fugitive for the past year and a half after the July 28, 2024, shooting. He was arrested Monday at a home in Toledo. The family of the victim waited a long year and a half for that day.

Footage shows deadly deputy-involved shooting in Pickaway County

ASHVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) – Body camera footage of a deadly shooting involving two Pickaway County Sheriff’s deputies last month shows what led up to the incident. The deputies were the first officers to arrive at the scene at a mobile home park in Ashville south of Rickenbacker International Airport on Jan. 20. At the scene, officers found a young man standing on the porch outside of a mobile home with a cellphone in one hand and a gun in the other.
