(KREX) – Smoke haze has been observed across the Grand Valley of Western Colorado, including the Bookcliff, Mount Garfield and Grand Mesa, originating from multiple wildfires in Utah. This includes a fire near Beaver, Utah, which began on Monday. The smoke is being carried by upper-level winds into the area. Grand Junction is currently at a moderate level on the Air Quality Index (AQI), and red flag conditions are expected to continue, indicating ongoing fire risk.
