Everything is quicker. We aren't always first. Sometimes that random Facebook group is. But we can be the best and the most accurate.

The ones based on true stories. All the President's Men, Spotlight, Frost/Nixon
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Keep the public informed. From road closures, to education issues, to how you'll be impacted by new legislation. People need to be informed

Why did you become a journalist?
Watergate project in 10th grade. And in community college, I realized I might have a knack for this.

So many. Private vouchers (my first professional award!), stories around racism, education stories
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep on pressing on. Things will get rough, but we have to keep going. And don't be afraid. Just ask questions
