What was your first job as a journalist?
Education reporter at Pittsburgh's Public Source
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! I sourced a typewriter from an antique market in my hometown and spent many days during COVID, typing away letters to friends.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I frequently use data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, DataWrapper and Flourish.
Why did you become a journalist?
I have always loved reading and telling stories. I got into journalism to find stories of people, culture and systems that are yet to be told
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A story abouttwo schools in Pittsburgh, which are located three miles apart but have vast differences in resources available to students.
