Lake Lawsona

The Florida Department of Transportation has been working for a number of years on changes to the roadway configurations along S.R. 526, aka Robinson Street. These changes to Robinson Street will be implemented from North Hughey Avenue through to Crystal Lake Drive/Maguire Boulevard. Multiple public community meetings have been sponsored by FDOT, including the recent Feb. 28, to receive input from residents and businesses on these changes.

Our November park cleanup with Green Up Orlando was a success thanks to neighborhood volunteers and the Lake Nona High School National Honor Society members who joined us on Nov. 12. We anticipate another event like this in the beginning of 2023.

The Lake Lawsona/Fern Creek Neighborhood Association had its Fall Meeting on Oct. 11, and we enjoyed talking to those in attendance. Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan joined us again and briefed the group on the latest information regarding Hurricane Ian cleanup and area flooding concerns. A long discussion regarding speeding on neighborhood streets and what could be done to minimize this hazard followed.
