In Oklahoma, Misty Copeland Sought Out a Slice of Ballet History Original
I travel a lot throughout the United States as a dancer, but I rarely get the opportunity to really spend time and see it. In 2023, however, I flew to Oklahoma and visited Fairfax, a town within the Osage Nation. I was there to research a potential film about Maria Tallchief, America's first prima ballerina and the first Native American to hold that title. She was born there and, in the 1940s and '50s, was a principal dancer in the New York City Ballet.

(L-R): Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and Andie Sachs (Anne Hathaway) in 20th Century Studios' THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2. A sequel? Of a 2000s hit movie? Groundbreaking, a certain cut throat magazine editor might retort. The highly anticipated release of Devil Wears Prada 2 has had skeptics, fans, and super fans speculating as to whether it could possibly live up to the deliciously sardonic dialogue and spectacular fashion of the original. After all, how do you capture the spirit of a film that feels so firmly rooted in the city and time it was filmed in?

Across Japan’s Setouchi Islands, Art Brings the Region’s Story to Life
In August 2021, Typhoon Lupit reached the shores of Naoshima, a small island in Japan’s Setouchi region, and blew a giant yellow pumpkin by the artist Yayoi Kusama out to sea. Footage of the incident, which remains available on YouTube, shows the sculpture upturned, interior belly exposed, tossed about by crashing waves, its famous polka dotted shell bending like cardboard to the winds.

'The Lost Boys: A New Musical': Phenomenal, frightening, and not to be missed The Joel Schumacher cult classic gets a rock-and-roll revamp. (Get it? Vamp. Because they're vampires.) A New Rocky Horror Show Taps Into the Legacy of NYC's Studio 54 Original
Walking by Studio 54 in midtown on a recent spring evening, one might be convinced it’s the 1970s again. The mirrored lobby of the fabled New York City nightclub-turned-theater is packed with glittering guests filing in beneath trembling chandeliers. The walls are plastered with kitschy posters exclaiming “DON’T GET HOT AND FLUSTERED” and “LET THEM THRILL YOU!” But this isn’t 1977. It’s 2026, and this is the Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show.
How Eva Longoria Makes a Travel Show
There is no bird in France as highly regarded as the Bresse chicken. Unique to the region in Burgundy with which it shares its name, the breed is the most delicious and expensive poultry in the country—revered for its marbled meat and combination of stark white feathers, bright red comb, and slate blue feet that together resemble the colors of the French flag. To see poulet de Bresse on a menu here is as natural as seeing Dijon mustard or a bottle of Pinot Noir.
The Women Who Travel Power List 2026
In 2026 it can feel hard, if not impossible, to make sense of the pace at which our world is changing – politically, environmentally, socially. While travel can be a respite from doomscrolling through the chaos of modern life, it can also be a lens through which to understand it all better or even a tool with which to enact change.

Louise Erdrich on a Scorching Summer in Naples Spent Reading Ferrante
“In 2014 I took a trip to Italy with my daughter Aza. After some time in Capri, we ended our travels in Naples so that we could read Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan Novels in their entirety there. It was July, very hot, and we were greeted by the scent of the sea, the old stone mixed with the salt and the brine and the smells of cooking. It was marvelous.

The World, Through Craft
Like recipes or songs, crafts are the fingerprints of our histories. Chasing the Iditarod Through the Wilds of Alaska
On the surface of a frozen river outside the small Alaskan city of Fairbanks, crowds are gathered in the morning sunshine. Adults hold flasks of coffee and gleaming red Solo cups as snow crunches beneath our boots. Children zip down the river banks on sleds, and idling snowmobiles hum over the anticipatory chit chat. Suddenly, over a loudspeaker, an announcer with the tenor of a Top 40 radio disc jockey begins to count down from ten, causing everyone else to fall quiet.
