Kassie Parker continues to knock off "firsts" during her third year of professional running. The seven-time NCAA Division III national champion for Loras College won her first USA Track and Field national championship at the Steamboat Classic in Peoria, Illinois, on Saturday, June 6. Parker, now a Crown Running athlete based in Waverly, won the women's USATF 4 Mile title in 20 minutes, 16 seconds while picking up $8,000 on the day.

Iowa junior Luke Knepp emphatically qualified for his first NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The former Pleasant Valley prep reestablished his own school record with a fifth-place time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase quarterfinals at the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Friday, May 29.Knepp earned the automatic spot to Eugene, Oregon, after taking third place in Heat 2 in 8 minutes, 30.52 seconds. Knepp finished fifth overall.

Central College senior Peyton Steffen finished her Dutch career with her best weekend ever at a national meet. The Marion High grad set a new program record while capturing runner-up honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on Friday, May 22. Steffen posted a time of 10 minutes, 11.25 seconds to erase the mark of 10:13.46 by 2024 national champion and former Aplington-Parkersburg prep Megan Johnson.
