PIERRE — An offensive outburst yielded a split for Palace City Post 18 in an American Legion baseball doubleheader at Pierre Post 8 on Tuesday night. After falling 1-0 in the first game of the twin bill, Post 18 powered past mistake-prone Pierre 11-0 in the second contest at Hyde Stadium. Entering the night, the two squads were separated by less than six-hundredths of a point in the Class A seed-point standings, with No. 9 Pierre just ahead of No. 10 Palace City.
