Larry Hryb has been appointed community development consultant at Commodore International Corporation. In his new role, Hryb will advise the Commodore executive team with a focus on preserving and expanding the global community around the iconic Commodore brand. Last year, the original Commodore brand was acquired by retro YouTube creator Christian Simpson (Perifractic), as reported by PC Gamer. Simpson is now the company's CEO and president.

Former Xbox spokesperson, Larry Hryb, more commonly known as Major Nelson, has announced that he has been laid off and lost his job Unity. “As many of you have been with me during my career in gaming, I’d like to share personal news. Like many in the gaming space recently, I’ve been laid off from Unity,” he wrote on BlueSky. “After leaving Microsoft, I joined the Unity team in 2024.

Xbox veteran Albert Penello has passed away

Xbox veteran Albert Penello has passed away at the age of 53. The news was broken on social media by fellow Microsoft alumnus Mike Ybarra, who revealed that Penello had died following a battle with cancer. He passed away on December 31st and is survived by his wife Dara and daughter Lily. Penello's career in games started at Electronic Arts, where he was a product marketing manager for over six years from 1994 to 2000.
