@bmises @IvanTheK Agreed. But cash or debt at 1 or 2% it still means that if Apple had a need cash for an investment (or share buybacks or dividends), they had access to the cash if they wanted it.
@bmises @IvanTheK Guys, Ivan is right, the cash (be it sitting in a lock box, or invested) was used (or could have been used) as collateral to borrow in the states at ~1% if / when they needed the money. The repatriation means that they don't have to pay the interest on their own money.
